ABOUT SANDY

Sandy Levesque is a marketing and public relations consultant with over 35 years experience in research, writing, project and event management for a wide variety of clients.

She is also the Executive Director of the 251 Club of Vermont, vt251.com, a non-profit organization established in 1954 to encourage visits to the state's 251 towns and cities.

251 Club of Vermont

An active board member and a volunteer for several community organizations, Sandy spends her leisure time cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, swimming, cooking, traveling, and, best of all, gardening.

Her passion for growing extends beyond vegetables and perennials to the secret soil of her Great Pumpkin Patch and the unquenchable quest for the Blue Ribbon.

She lives with her husband and fellow writer, Stephen Morris, in an 1826 parsonage on their "four acre farm" in Central Vermont.

Sandy has a degree in Communications and Business from Trinity College. A three year research project kindled by her interest in history and storytelling resulted in the August 2009 publication of "Under A Fig Tree: A Family Memoir."

Vermont Travel Journal by Sandy Levesque
Her latest writing project, the Vermont Travel Journal, was published in April 2014.

This 6" x 9" journal is the perfect traveling companion, deliberately sized to fit in most glove compartments, purses, backpacks, briefcases, and totes. Its durable cover has a smooth matte finish and the spiral binding allows the book to lay flat for ease of use.

All of Vermont's 255 civic/geographic entities or "places"—237 towns, 9 cities, 5 unorganized towns, 3 gores, and 1 grant—are listed alphabetically, along with their charter, grant or patent date, on lightly-lined writing pages.

The adventurous traveler is encouraged to record a favorite memory from each of these places, or to simply validate their visit in the allotted space to create a unique, treasured keepsake.

A map of Vermont county and town boundaries is also included, as well as a useful list of Vermont Travel Resources (maps, books, and websites) an all in one reference and notebook.

The journal's 160 pages are printed on classic, cream colored, acid-free, archival paper that will preserve travel memories for years to come. Vintage Vermont postcards from another century provide the design element for the covers and complimentary interior pages.

Sandy is also Co-Editor of the "Wrath of Irene," published in January 2012, just five months after Tropical Storm Irene cut a devastating path through much of Vermont. With more than 200 pages and 250 photographs, the book tells the story of Irene and the White River Watershed, one of the hardest hit areas in the state. The "Wrath of Irene" goes beyond the storm's flood and destruction to record the spirit of "neighbors helping neighbors" with the resiliency and generosity that characterize Vermont community. Order directly from The Public Press, or from Amazon. Also available from independent booksellers.
